I was flipping jealously through pictures of John Mayer in New York today, meeting fans as he promoted Born & Raised. And a I did I picked this up off of my shel and whispered to myself, “don’t be greedy”.

This makes my heart hurt.
Get well soon John.
We’ll be counting down the days until we hear your voice again.
I have no idea how to introduce this post, so I’m skipping the first paragraph.
During rehearsal on Tuesday, it came to mind that I should see my throat doctor because something didn’t feel/sound right. I went in for a visit on Wednesday and a scope of my vocal cords revealed that the granuloma…
Here’s a clip of the first single off Born and Raised, called “Shadow Days.” I’m excited to share the first bit of sound from the album… Been looking forward to a post like this since October 14, 2010, the first day I started writing this group of songs. Enjoy.
Say - John Mayer
This was the first song I heard when I got into the car after a New Year’s party.
I think the universe is trying to tell me something…
So pretend as I might that he doesn’t matter to me anymore, that his douchebaggy antics have kept me away for good I simply must admit it - I love John Mayer.
So colour me shocked as I browsed my Tumblr today (and double check on all of my Mayer blogs, message boards etc.) to find out his new album Born and Raised will be out in October.
Now I know he’s been laying low, which usually means he’s working on a new album, but I feel like he’s been laying extra low, not a peep, not a Tweet, barely a blog post. I feel like I should be skeptical. So on the outside I’ll take the news with a grain of salt, remain aloof and say that I’m not quite sure if I believe it.
Inside, I’m excited like a damn teenie.
From this awesome site Norwegian Recycling this is a crazy mix of a whole bunch of romantic-y songs - with Your Body is a Wonderland holding it all together.
Awesome little mash-up.
John Mayer has seven Grammys.
Four for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Your Body is A Wonderland”, “Daughters”, “Waiting on the World to Change” and “Say”; One for Pop Vocal Album of the Year for Continuum; One for Best Male Rock Vocal Peformance for “Gravity” and one for Song of the Year for “Daugthers”.
And Battle Studies took one home this year for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
But that doesn’t make me feel any better about the fact that he didn’t take home any hardware tonight…
